Playa Grande, Puerto del Carmen

The main resort town on the island has grown steadily over recent years. Its attractiveness lies mainly in the carefully
developed low-rise buildings and extensive landscaped promenades. The old part of town is little more than a village with its original fishing harbour. The resort has a wide selection of shops (selling
everything from designer fashion, local linen, ceramics and handicrafts), restaurants (providing the widest choice of cuisine at prices much below UK and Irish levels), bars, discos and nightclubs. The
main sandy beach Playa Grande is almost a kilometre long with comfortable sun loungers and parasols for hire at reasonable prices.
